Guts and Gravel
Times were getting' hard. Dust choked the yard.
We looked at the sky - the heavens were dry.
The wife said, "Hon, I think we're done.
Kids need new shoes. All we've got are the blues"
Everything was starting to unravel
Living on guts and gravel
Sheriff came one day. Said "You've got to pay
Mortgage's over due. This time you're through"
They hauled me away for judgment day.
I stood at the bar; it seemed so bizarre.
Judge pound down his gavel, said
"You're livin' on guts and gravel"
My wife said "Hon, I brought the gun.
Can't go your bail, but you're getting' out of jail."
She got the key, then I was free
We got away…We're still runnin' today.
The time had come to travel,
Livin' on guts and gravel
Yeah, The time had come to travel,
Livin' on guts and gravel
Guts and gravel, yeah guts and gravel
All came unraveled. Watch out for that gavel.
Time to travel. Yeah, guts and gravel - Oh, guts and gravel…
